"Quiet" is the story of a woman named Ali who is denied the right to make medical decisions for her partner, Sam, after a car accident renders Sam unconscious. Ali must lie and say she is Sam's sister so that she can be with her in the hospital. We see their relationship develop in the past, as Ali's situation unravels in the present.

The film is inspired by the true story of Janice Langbehn and Lisa Pond: NY Times

Lauren Fash, Director

Lauren Fash recently graduated from University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. She completed her thesis film, "Little Spoon," in 2010, which screened at both the San Francisco International Women's Film Festival and at the Los Angeles International Women's Festival as well as First Film in LA. "Quiet" is her first independent short.

Susan Graham, Producer

Susan Graham is delighted to have the opportunity to co-write and co-produce "Quiet." She graduated from Yale with a degree in theater intending to pursue performance, but has been happy to find writing and producing equally exciting. Some of her other work includes co-producing the web short "2 Girls 1 Cop" (seen on Comedy Central) as well as the award-winning series "Natural Hazards."

Brian Peschka, Producer

Brian graduated from USC's School of Cinematic Arts and has been steadily producing projects since then from short films "Quiet" to "THUMB", to travel series "No Lands Too Foreign." Brian has been producing films with Lauren since their time at USC, and he is excited to help her tell the story of "Quiet.

Erica Bardin, Producer

Erica Bardin created the internet spoof series "SportShorts" shortly after earning her Masters in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California. She writes, produces and stars in SportShorts as "Bam Bam." You may have also seen her work as a writer/producer/actor in the award-winning web series Natural Hazards and the Comedy Central short 2 Girls 1 Cop. Erica is currently working on a stop-motion series as well as a live comedy sketch show.


Susan Graham as Ali

After graduating from Yale with a degree in theater, Susan earned her chops off-Broadway and with a national stage tour. Moving to Los Angeles three years ago, Susan has worked tirelessly writing, producing, and starring in projects she has helped create. Her credits include the award-winning web series NATURAL HAZARDS as well as the Comedy Central short 2 GIRLS 1 COP (both of which she also co-wrote and co-produced) and Walt Disney Pictures BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA 2. She is thrilled to be a part of QUIET.

Jaclyn Betham as Sam

Jaclyn Betham, like the starlets of old Hollywood, is a triple threat. Starting her early career as a ballerina and theatre artist, she moved to Hollywood loving the stage and wanting to fill the film screen. As a working actress, Jaclyns dream is quickly coming true!

Mike Rose as James

Mike Rose has been writing and performing sketch comedy for several years in theaters all over Los Angeles including The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade. Mike created the very popular webseries STOP IT, a parody of A&E's Intervention and the gay cop comedy, Fagney&Gaycey. Mike also wrote, produced, directed and appeared in A Gaythering Storm for starring Jane Lynch, George Takei, Alicia Silverstone, Lance Bass, Sarah Chalke and others. A Gaythering Storm was featured on Larry King Live, Anderson Cooper 360 and was nominated for a Human Rights Campaign award. Many of Mike's films, including his most recent short film - Couples Therapy, have been official selections at OUTFEST - The Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival and FUSION - The Los Angeles LGBT Filmmakers of Color Film Festival for the past 4 years. Mike recently won NBCUniversal Shortcuts Best Short and Best Actor Awards with Couples Therapy.

Cocoa Brown as Nurse Mel

Cocoa Brown spends much of her time as an in-demand stand up comedienne, touring worldwide. She has appeared on BET, Showtime & Comedy Central. Cocoa is also a fast rising comedic actress, with roles on CBS's 2 Broke Girls and as a series regular on the new Tyler Perry sitcom, For Better or Worse, on TBS. Cocoa was so excited to be cast in Quiet because it gave her the opportunity to display her dramatic acting chops, where most of her TV & Film work has been comedy. "Lauren & Susan are truly one the best teams I've had the pleasure to work with and also just an all-around awesome experience!" says Brown.

Tom Lommel as Dr. Downey

Tom Lommel graduated from Macalester College with a BA in Acting and spent several years honing his acting and improv skills in the Twin Cities, culminating in a 17-month run of Minnesota! It's Not Just For Lutherans Any More... with the Brave New Workshop. Since moving to Los Angeles he has appeared on Brothers & Sisters, Perfect Couples, and Chris Elliott's delightfully twisted show Eagleheart. You may also recognize him as that one guy in the commercial they have for that thing.

Caroline Bielskis as Nurse Lucy

Caroline Bielskis, a Southern CA native, started her acting career in 2002, once she finished raising her son. She has studied with some of the best, including Margie Haber, Second City, Beverly Hills Playhouse, and others. Caroline has played several roles on award winning TV shows, including "Two and A Half Men", "Criminal Minds", "Gilmore Girls", "Star Trek Enterprise", "Passions" and "Days Of Our Lives"; and she has worked in independent films and on the stage. She also coaches actors and has helped them win roles on TV, in films and on the stage. "Working on "Quiet" was a wonderful experience. The story shows that love is love, and everyone has the right to create a family, and have that union respected - particularly when our loved ones need us most. Bridget McManus as Nora

Recognized for her provocative and uninhibited style, stand-up comic and actor Bridget McManus stars in her own show called "Bridget McManus Presents: That Time of The Month" on the LOGO Network. McManus also hosted LOGO's award winning comedy show, "Brunch with Bridget. She can also be seen in Tellofilm's series "Cowgirl Up" and most recently she penned and starred in the mockumentary series "McManusLand." McManus has made the Hot 100 Women in Entertainment list for the last three years and has graced the covers of BOUND Magazine and CURVE Magazine's "America's Funniest Lesbian" issue.

Shannan Reeve as Kiley

Shannan was born into a military family and spent most of her life moving from city to city. After landing her first role in the stage adaptation of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory while her family was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, she knew that no matter where life would take her: she had to be an actress. Currently Shannan resides in Hollywood, where she performs regularly as the witchy Cyberdyne CEO at Universal Studios Hollywoods Terminator 2:3D attraction. This year Shannan has multiple projects where you can see her, including the comic book action feature CROSS, the web-series COWGIRL UP and DIARY OF A BLACK WIDOW now available at, and the theatrical version of WE HAVE TO STOP NOW season 2, which screened earlier at Outfest this year. Shannan just wrapped the world premier of I HATE TOMMY FINCH at Parlour in Chicago, oppisite Nicole Pacent. Joshua Schottland as the Security Guard

Often deemed a born dramatist by friends and family, Joshua is a true trailblazer in the L.A. acting scene. A three-year resident of the West Coast, he has worked with Quiets own Erica Bardin and Susan Graham on Two Girls One Cop. Joshua is thrilled to have worked with the cast of Quiet, and he seeks to pursue his career in future projects.
